The 2024 KTM 250 XC-W is already a formidable machine, but this build takes it to the next level for those aiming to conquer various terrain from windy single track to techy slickrock. The Rider is someone who wants to stay light and minimal. While they won't be competing in the next Hard Enduro series any time soon, they love throwing themselves at medium/hard enduro terrain. When it comes to gear and tools they try to take as little as possible and shed the weight off their body. A spare can of fuel, a jacket, and even a spare tube start to take up much-needed space. To help protect from drops and spills Bullet Proof Designs came in and provided us with the necessary components to beef up some of the critical components and exposed areas of the bike. We want this XC-W to be ready for anything from technical desert slickrock to the wet roots and overturned logs of the Pacific Northwest.

Gravitas: Helping a Minimalist Stay Minimal

As mentioned the rider doesn't want their pack to be filled with any unnecessary gear taking up space. That becomes difficult when the necessary gear becomes extra fuel, water, a jacket, and a spare tube. For this rider, we paired them up with the Alpine Panel and Rear Apex Panel.

Alpine Panel:

Mount additional lighting, tools, spare tire tubes, or even extra fuel securely on the bike, shedding the weight and opening space in your backpack to improve comfort and mobility.

Rear Apex Panel:

Perfect for strapping down your jacket or a spare tube to the rear of the bike, allowing for better load distribution on technical terrain.

Bullet Proof Designs: Ultimate Protection

Clutch Cover:

Built from a solid block of 6061 aluminum the BPD clutch cover is as light as it is durable.

Radiator Guards:

Probably our favorite from BPD and a must have. Designed to keep engine and cooling systems safe from impacts as you plow through rough sections.

Front & Rear Disc Guards, Rear Brake Caliper Guard:

Ensure your brake rotors and brake housings stay intact, even when you're riding through tight rock gardens or jagged trails.

Fork Lug Guard:

Help protect from rocks and other trail debris. Pairs perfectly with the front disc guard.

Throttle Housing:

Added protection to a critical and exposed component.

Swingarm Guard:

Protection against breakage of your chain guide tabs on the swingarm.

Exhaust Flange Guard:

Probably the most important and crucial piece of protection that can be added to your bike, especially if you’re running a pipe guard. This helps protect against broken or damaged exhaust flanges. When smashing your pipe guard against rocks or logs that energy generated needs to go somewhere and more often than not it goes right to your exhaust flanges.

Power Valve Cover (Right and Left), Case Guard, Throttle Body Guard:

Extra protection to those critical and vulnerable components on your engine to keep you riding longer.

Sprocket Cover:

Help prevent mud accumulation on your sprocket and keep your chain right where it should be…on your sprocket.

Chain Tangle Eliminator:

This is another one of our favorites from BPD. The CTE is designed to prevent the chain from jamming between the sprocket and your spokes.
